Damaged or discolored cycling clothing! Has it ever happened to you? Maybe washed too hot or with other products? It&#8217;s possible that your cycling gear doesn&#8217;t hold up as well as it should. Let us give you 9 tips to wash your cycling clothing. Faded colors, damages, or loose grippers are unfortunately more common than necessary. You probably know the result when you throw your gloves with Velcro in with your new outfit in the wash \u2639. Hence, this short blog to ensure that your cycling clothing stays good and vibrant for as long as possible! Looking well-groomed on the bike is entirely in your hands :-).<\/p>\n<p>To get straight to the point: it&#8217;s best to wash your cycling clothing by hand in lukewarm water with a little detergent. Then, simply let it dry on a drying rack and voila! Perhaps not ideal if you&#8217;re frequently on the bike, so here are the Do\u2019s and Don&#8217;ts if you still prefer to use the washing machine:<\/p>\n<h2>Do\u2019s<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn the clothing inside out to prevent damage and color fading.<\/li>\n<li>Close zippers and Velcro properly and, if possible, use a laundry bag (or wash the clothing separately).<\/li>\n<li>Opt for the delicate wash program (at a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius).<\/li>\n<li>Use a minimal amount of detergent to reduce color fading.<\/li>\n<li>Wash the clothing as soon as possible after a training session. Sweat causes colors on your kit to fade. Dried sweat can even cause the fabric to rub, making it thin and eventually tear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Dont\u2019s<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid using a dryer to prevent the elastic fabrics in your kit from stretching.<\/li>\n<li>Never soak the clothing! This greatly increases the chance of colors fading and bleeding.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use fabric softener! This can cause the quick-drying properties to disappear or reduce the water-repellent effect.<\/li>\n<li>Drying in the sun also causes colors to fade.
