Cycling with men as a woman

Women are often hesitant to join cycling groups with men, but let me tell you, it’s actually a lot of fun! We tell you how to go cycling with men as a woman. Here’s why:
Firstly, let’s address the practical side
Riding with men doesn’t mean you have to wear men’s cycling gear. Stick to your own women-specific clothing – it fits better anyway. Don’t worry about standing out with your outfit; just be yourself.
Men often boast about their cycling achievements, claiming high speeds and long distances. But in reality, they’re usually not as fast as they claim. They’ll gladly adjust their pace to accommodate you, so don’t stress about keeping up.
Take advantage of their size – riding behind a man shields you from the wind and offers a better view than riding alone or with other women.
Just like us, men enjoy coffee breaks during rides. Don’t hesitate to suggest stopping for a coffee; they’ll likely enjoy it too. However, be prepared for shorter breaks and less chatter compared to women’s rides.
Compliments go a long way with men
Praise their drafting skills, and you’ll find yourself protected from the wind without having to take the lead. And if you have a flat tire, chances are a man will insist on fixing it for you.
Men engage in different conversations while cycling. It can be refreshing to hear their straightforward, concise talk. Plus, it means less chitchat, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Oh, and men have a sense of humor, so they’ll appreciate taking stereotypes with a grain of salt! Ready for cycling with men as a woman??
