Quality is paramount when it comes to cycling apparel, isn’t it? That’s why we at TD dedicate ourselves every single day to crafting the finest cycling kit. While we’ve devoted our lives to cycling apparel, testing every garment to the last fiber in wind tunnels and on the road, and satisfying numerous (top) teams, the question remains: how reliable is this coming from a clothing supplier’s mouth? So that’s why we present to you this review named: ”Tested: TD Sportswear custom cycling apparel”
That’s why we regularly subject our lines to independent testing. Take, for instance, our Pro 800 clothing line. Developing this line required years of blood, sweat, and tears – endless combinations of different fabrics were tested to achieve the performance of the current line. And the line is continually being improved, ensuring you’ll have a kit that brings joy for years to come. Read below to see if Fiets Magazine, also known as www.fiets.nl, shares our sentiment.
The test from Fiets.nl!
Cool! Camo in purple and blue. Last year, we had the pleasure of testing a set from TD Sportswear. This time, we received a Pro 800 kit from their basic collection. TD doesn’t just make custom clothing; they also offer a small collection of shirts with fixed designs.
What should I look out for?
The Futuristic Camo cycling shirt (and shorts). Let’s call a spade a spade. The shirt is made of highly stretchable Lycra fabric. It’s not too tight, despite the ‘slim fit’ cut. Available in 8(!) different sizes, there’s always one that fits you. The fabric is quite perforated, making it pleasantly airy for rides on warmer days. All seams are flat and double-stitched. Quality! When you stuff the three pockets at the back fairly full, they tend to ‘sag’ due to the stretchy fabric. So, be wary of the typical cyclist-with-banana-in-pocket look. Fortunately, they offer two options: an ‘open’ or closed and sturdy back.
The sleeves are made of a similar material and feature a nice, thick cuff that keeps the sleeves in place. It’s all pretty straightforward. It looks good, fits well, and is just more than good. The price? That’s nice too, €69.95 excluding VAT. It doesn’t always have to be extremely expensive, right?
The shorts
The accompanying shorts give us a similar impression. Great chamois. A chamois that holds its shape for several hours. Rides of 8 hours pose no problem. The fit of the shorts is quite generous. An M doesn’t feel tight on me at all, whereas an M from an Italian brand sometimes feels like a full compression short. Dutch sizes, indeed. The length of the legs is fairly long, and the grippers at the bottom add some stretch.
The Pro 800 kit is great if you want something special, aren’t creative enough to come up with it yourself, and especially if you don’t want to empty your wallet completely.
